The Hay Barn and adjoining Threshing Barn, with mellow flint and brick walls and vaulted timber framed roof are a beautiful, flexible space for parties, private receptions and dinners, from 50 to 250 guests.
The Barns reopened in 2018 after an extensive restoration which was careful to leave the imprint of the of past on the structure. Initials carved into the timber, blackened beams from a past fire and weathered metal girders were all kept. A beautiful polished concrete floor brings the Barns into the present moment.
Charleston is unique, a place of tranquil beauty in the most glorious of settings.
We now host a very small number of weddings in our beautiful Barns each year. True to our heritage, we especially welcome LGBTQ+ weddings.
Filming and photoshoots
Charleston is available for hire as a location for filming and photoshoots. Over the last few years the house has been the backdrop for a range of high profile magazine features, collection launches and television programmes.
The glowing colours of the painted interiors, the abundant artists’ garden and the beautiful surrounding landscape make Charleston an inspiring and arresting setting for photography or film.
