Saving the planet and your pocket!

Charleston is situated in the heart of the South Downs National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are a short walk or ride from the South Downs Way and can be found at OS TQ 490 069.

Charleston can be challenging to reach by public transport, so for those who persevere we offer discounted entry price of £10/£11 with Gift Aid to the house and gardens (available to anyone not arriving by car, offered upon proof of either a bus ticket or muddy bicycle or boots).

We’ve got lots of bike spaces to park your bikes and a new Bike First Aid Kit. Making it easier to cycle to.

Find Charleston on Ordnance Survey Landranger maps 198 and 199, and on Ordnance Survey Explorer maps 122 and 123. For comprehensive instructions on how to walk or cycle to Charleston from nearby railway stations click :here.

There is a trail running through Charleston’s grounds that will take you to the top of the Firle Beacon for views of the sea and back to Charleston by a different path – about an hour long round trip. (NB: steep in places.)
