Charleston Festival 2022

Imagine the world differently through art, books and ideas with today's most exciting artists, writers and changemakers

Charleston Festival is back!

Bringing together today’s most exciting artists, writers and changemakers to engage with art and ideas in a thrilling programme of live events.

Join us for 10 days of talks, conversations and performances, and see the world differently! Join over 100 speakers to explore topics ranging from books, poetry and writing, to fashion, film, science and politics.

On stage this year are musician and activist Bob Geldof, actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Jonathan Pryce and Sheila Hancock, journalist and podcast host Deborah Frances-White, writers Damon Galgut, Armistead Maupin, Sarah Moss, Jacqueline Wilson and Monique Roffey, scientist Jim Al-Khalili, lawyers Clive Stafford Smith and Lady Hale, journalist Emily Maitlis, fashion designers Kim Jones and Zandra Rhodes, and many many more.

And it’s all happening right here!

As well as our festival stage and marquee, the grounds will be abuzz with tempting food stalls, a pop-up bookshop from Brighton and Hove’s City Books, book signings, as well as tasty Italian delights and a Sussex sparkling picnic hamper available to order from our café partners Caccia & Tails.

Make a day of it with a discounted day ticket which gives you access to all events on your chosen day, or even an all-event ticket to join us for the full ten days! You can also combine your trip by pre-booking a visit to the house or exhibitions. And don’t forget our beautiful spring garden which will be in full bloom; perfect for relaxing in between events.
