Premieres on 25 May at 7pm, on Charleston’s YouTube channel.
A rare chance to hear Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei discuss his work and creative practice.
Ai Weiwei is internationally renowned for making strong statements that resonate with contemporary issues around the world. From architecture to installations, social media to documentaries, Ai uses a wide range of media to examine society and its values. As such, his practice actively challenges the idea that art is a separate discipline, unrelated to the banality of daily life.
Ai Weiwei discusses art that cannot be contained with Tim Marlow, award-winning broadcaster, art historian and Director and Chief Executive of the Design Museum.
As a charity that receives no public funding, the cancellation of Charleston Festival and our current closure is financially devastating for Charleston. As you enjoy this event, please consider making a donation to Charleston’s Emergency Appeal.
