Created by Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West in the 1930s, this unforgettable garden is influential today for its design, its exuberant planting, and its effect on visitors. Author Tim Richardson traces the history of the garden, and for the first-time places it in the context of modernist literature and poetry.

He is joined by writer and journalist Juliet Nicolson who is the granddaughter of Nicolson and Sackville-West and knows the power and magic of the garden, having spent her much of her childhood exploring its every inch.
