Author-illustrator Posy Simmonds has been delighting readers with her exquisitely drawn, pin-sharp comic strips and accompanying stories since the Mrs Webber’s Diary series appeared in The Guardian in the 1970s.
She followed this with Gemma Bovary and Tamara Drewe, both based on classic novels and adapted into films. Her new book, Cassandra Darke is a black tale about a mean-spirited Chelsea art dealer, convicted for fraud.
Posy Simmonds will give an illustrated talk about her work and her anti-heroine.
