Our free open mic sessions are your opportunity to try out new work on a friendly and supportive audience. The theme this year is ISLANDS and we welcome readings of a short story or poem of up to 5 minutes.
Taking place in the Nook, a modest, unassuming performance space away from the main marquee, the running order will be decided by pulling names out of a hat during each session. You will only be able to sign up for either or both sessions on the day itself, when entry forms will be available from the Nook. Overwhelming interest so far means that we cannot guarantee everyone will get to read, but will do our best to give as many people as possible a chance.
Please note that although the sessions will have ISLANDS as their theme, we are not expecting them to be deserted. So if you are interested in coming to listen but not to read, bear in mind that there will be a limited audience space. Be sure to get there early if you want to applaud the literary stars-of-tomorrow from the very front of the crowd.
There are two Open Mic sessions: one at 3pm and one at 5pm.
Shuttle bus to/from Lewes train station and Charleston available for main events and workshops
