Develop your writing practice, learn new tools and approaches, and expand your critical knowledge of the contemporary life writing genre with this Intermediate Level course. Designed for writers who have completed the Introduction course, or have an existing writing practice or project in mind, each week will guide you through different styles, forms and elements of craft, using a range of readings and prompts. Unlike the Introduction to Life Writing course, there is less of a Bloomsbury focus in terms of the texts and techniques explored, and a greater emphasis on the mechanisms of craft and form. Students will be expected to complete work at home between sessions and be ready to share it in class for feedback and guidance.
We also have a couple of places on our Friday Life Writing (Intermediate) course, running for 10 weeks from 17 January.
