Colourscape is an inflatable structure, and as such is sensitive to wind levels. Wind levels are continuously monitored and have just reached a point that it is no longer safe to stay open. We are very sorry to disappoint!
DAY TWO OF COLOURSCAPE!
WE ARE OPEN TODAY 11AM – 5PM, LAST ENTRY AT 4.30PM.
A labyrinth of colour, light and music lands at Charleston this summer! Enter the world of Colourscape and explore countless interlinked rainbow chambers with extraordinary light and colour experiences. And along the way join in with musicians who’ll be playing an array of different instruments.
Colourscape is an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. There’ll be a host of free, colour-themed activities for younger visitors including paint your own Rothko, colour wheels and wings; and entrance to our Spring/Summer exhibitions will be half price for Colourscape ticket holders (and free for children under 18).
Make the most of your visit to Colourscape by exploring Charleston’s beautiful gardens for free and/or book a visit to the House (by guided tour on Saturday or as a self-guided visit on Sunday). Tickets are available to pre-book online or can be purchased on the day from the Charleston shop, subject to availability.
Tickets are priced at £6 for adults, £3 for children (under 16) and free for children aged 2 years and under. Tickets are only available to purchase on the day – no advance booking.
Due to the popularity of Colourscape, we operate a ‘virtual’ queuing system. When you arrive at Colourscape you will be given a ticket with a time slot on, so you don’t have to wait in line. You can go away and explore, and return at the allocated time. There are free drop in art activities in the Barn. Entrance to our ‘In Colour’ exhibition is half price for adults and free for children under 18. We have an on-site cafe in the Barn, and entrance to the garden is also free for all visitors this weekend.
Please note that ‘virtual’ queue times can sometimes be up to a couple of hours – but there is plenty to do on site in the meantime.
There is a no queue policy for disabled visitors, or visitors with additional needs. Please contact a member of Charleston staff when you arrive.
The event will only be cancelled in high winds to ensure the complete safety of our visitors. Please check Charleston’s website or social media accounts for any updates.
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August, 11am – 5pm. Last entry: 4.30pm.
The live music is continuous from 11.30am until 4pm, with the first and last half hour being quieter times.
Visitors spend on average 30 minutes in the Colourscape structure.
Colourscape is accessible for wheelchair users. It is situated in a field, with uneven ground and a bumpy path. Please make the Charleston team aware if you or someone in your party has additional needs and and we will assist.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Food and drink will be available to purchase from The Threshing Barn Cafe and Pizza Leonati will be serving fresh, handmade pizzas from their famous van.
Colourscape opens in all weathers apart from strong wind. Please check our website and Charleston’s social media accounts for updates on the day.
