About the Artist:
Cressida Bell set up her east London design studio on leaving the Royal College of Art in 1984. She had previously studied in the fashion department of St Martin’s School of Art in its 1980s heyday.
Cressida is known for her beautiful hand-made scarves, lamps and lampshades and her illustrative work including highly collectable greetings cards.
Her work is uncompromisingly decorative in style and, although there is an undoubted influence from her well known Bloomsbury Group forebears (Quentin Bell was her father and Vanessa Bell her grandmother), she has forged her own very individual style over the last 30 years.
Following the publication of Cressida Bell’s Cake Design in 2013, she has also become well known for her cake design and decoration, as featured in Brides magazine, The Telegraph, House & Garden and many other publications.
Cressida also offers a cake design service for a variety of events including weddings, birthdays & launches. Her clients include Hamish Bowles (International Editor of Vogue), Thames & Hudson, Condé Nast, Glamour magazine and Couverture boutique.
