THE SISTERS TOUR
Charleston's new Friday tour looks at the lives of the sisters, Vanessa Bell and Virginia Woolf, the painter and writer who stood at the heart of the Bloomsbury group. The tour explores their relationship, and traces their lives from their Victorian childhood in Kensington, through the early Bloomsbury days, and ultimately to Sussex.
This tour is 90 minutes long and gives the visitor a chance to see the kitchen and Vanessa Bell’s studio, two rooms not shown on any other tour.
Due to the length of the tour and the intensity of the subject matter the ‘Sisters’ tour is not suitable for children. (The best day for families to visit is Sunday. There are stewards in the rooms and you can go around the house at your own pace. There is a children’s trail to fill in as you go round and you can leave the house and return as often as you like or need!)
The Sister tour is available in 2008 on the following Fridays:
March 28th
April 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th
May 2nd , 9th & 30th
June 6th, 13th, & 27th
September 5th, 12th, 26th
October 3rd, 10th, 17 th, 24th & 31st
