Remembering Paul Roche…
Tuesday 7 October
7pm • Tickets £14 include the talk and a glass of wine.
Paul Roche played a pivotal role in Duncan Grant’s later life, from their meeting in 1946 whilst crossing Piccadilly Circus until Grant’s death 32 years later at Roche’s home. Paul Roche died in October 2007 at the age of 91.
Two months previously Darren Clarke, visitor and festival manager at Charleston, visited Roche at his Majorcan home to record his memories of Grant and Charleston. Darren will discuss his visit with Director of Charleston Colin McKenzie, and play some of the recordings of Roche’s recollections.
