Join us to celebrate the premiere of Angelica a new film produced by Christopher Mason (who also produced and directed the film Duncan Grant at Charleston) and directed by Paul O'Dell. The film is a record of Angelica Garnett talking about her life and work to Christopher Mason. It examines Angelicas work as a painter and writer and was filmed this year, 2010, at her home and studio in Forcalquier, France. This will be the first public showing of the film. The evening will include a cello recital by David Norton, playing music from the film by Myriam Martin.
There will also be an exclusive opportunity to purchase original paintings by Angelica Garnett which she has donated to raise funds for the Charleston Trust. These paintings came from her former home, Hilton Hall. A newly commissioned bust of Angelica Garnett by sculptor Sylvia MacRae Brown will also be on display for this evening only.
