A Woolf in Emperor's Clothing *SOLD OUT*

Thursday 22 April
6.30pm for 7pm start - 8.30pm
£15 includes a glass of wine

In 1910 Virginia Woolf and others famously dressed up and impersonated a group of foreign dignitaries to be given a tour of a Dreadnought warship at a moment in history when security should have been paramount. Duncan Grant was later threatened with horse-whipping, but managed to persuade the naval officers to let him go without charge. Join us for a talk on the 100th anniversary of the Dreadnought Hoax by Virginia Nicholson, great niece of Virginia Woolf, and Martyn Downer, biographer of Horace de Vere Cole, the celebrated hoaxer.
