SCHOOL VISITS

Primary visits

The uniquely decorated interiors of Charleston, and the rich history of the house, form the basis of all our educational activities. A visit is usually two hours long and involves a tour of the house led by an experienced guide, with time in each room for activities like discussion, sketching and recording information.

Tours can be arranged to support the Units 4B 'Take a Seat' or 5B 'Containers' in the QCA schemes of work for art and design. Alternatively teachers can select a more general tour called 'Pattern'. This year, we have extended our offer to schools offer by bringing Charleston’s literary heritage to life through creative writing and storytelling workshops. We are also very happy to work with schools to produce a tailored visit that meets your requirements.

For further details or to arrange a visit, please contact Holly Wood, Charleston’s Education and Events Manager on 01323 811626.
