Angelica Garnett

Born at Charleston on Christmas day 1918, Angelica was actively involved in the interior decoration of the house and played a central role in its restoration in the 1980s. We are delighted to be exhibiting some of her most recent work here in the Charleston Gallery. All works will be for sale and the proceeds will go to support the Charleston Centenary Project.
Annie Leibovitz
24th May – 15th July
In 2010 Annie Leibovitz visited Charleston to take photographs of the interior of the house. The photographs that she took here are included in her recently published book Pilgrimage. This exhibition, put together with Annie Leibovitz exclusively for Charleston, is a selection of images from the book.

“With some art you definitely get the feeling that the artist enjoyed themselves whilst working on it, and I get this feeling a lot at Charleston. I hope that the ceramic pieces I produce for this show will channel some of the spirit of joie de vivre that flows out of and around this Sussex farm house.”
