‘If every picture
tells a story what tales of
mystery and intrigue does Iceland Poppies
conjure?’. This was the question posed to school
children across the country in a series of
workshops funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Charleston’s story teller, Jamie Crawford, worked
with primary schools in Newcastle, Norwich and
East Sussex to explore the painting’s meaning
and narratives. Then they turned their
ideas
into fantastic and
magical stories.
Many thanks to all of the
staff and students involved
with the storytelling
workshops.
